About the SundryDrop Online Store

What's different and why

We have custom built our store from the ground up. It is written towards to market merchandise using several unique features.

No Quantity
Becaue each item can be unique in condition (certificate of authenticity, numbered, unique color characteristics, accompanied by accessories etc.), we present each selection in our store as an individual. Allthough we often have multiple items, you can always navigate to the list from which you have selected an item and add another to your cart if you want more than one.

No In Stock/Out of Stock
Each item you see listed in our store is in stock and available for immediate shipping. If you notice that a product you have added to your cart no longer shows up in the list you are browsing, it is because you have put the last item we have into your cart, thereby removing it from availability.

Our Technology

Our cart system is built on FileMaker Pro using CDML to dynamically generate the web pages (read more about the cart usage below). Our entire system is Macintosh based, including our Web Server and DNS Server. Due to the great flexibility of FileMaker, however, the system we have developed can work on any platform. How to search for items in our store

Search using more nested subcatgories: After you select a category, you often will see additional more subcategories under the selected one to help you refine your search. However, category selection can be subjective, and you might not find an item when we actually have it. Before you give up, try using the hour glass selection mechancism and search by artist/manufacturer name and key words if you don't find something you are looking for. Still not finding it? Contact us so we can put your on a special "want" list and contact you when we have one!

Search using the hourglass function: Located in the top left-hand corner of each page, the hourglass function might be the best way to search for an item that you have in mind.

Search by artist/creator or manufactuerer. Use key words when you search using the item title. Using key words that help classify or describe an item to enhance your search.

For example, if your an ornament collector but can't remember the exact name of an item, type in key words such as "Santa", "Snowman", main colors. If you can't find an item by exact name, try using other terms that capture important characteristics. We've also tried to include ID numbers in the item name but they are space and hyphen sensitive, so try entering or omitting spaces and hyphens. Be flexible in how you search, becoming broader with your selection terms if you can't find what your're looking for.

The more you use our system, the more you'll understand how using essential key words will help you find what you are looking for.

Remember to advance to the next page: You might be surprised to see only three or five items when you select a category or subcategory, expecting more. However, we might have hundreds more! So remember to advance to the next page using the links at the top and bottom. You can also go back if needed. Because we can have hundreds of items, you might want to use the hour glass function located at the top left corner or a subcategory if it's available.
